Swine Flu Daily Update Issued At: 11am Tuesday 30 June 2009, Wales
– 26 confirmed cases in Wales, with 9 new cases: – A 25-year-old male from Cardiff who is a healthcare worker at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. The infection is related to travel and not to another case of swine flu in a healthcare worker at the same hospital. Close contacts, including patients and staff, are being identified and will be offered antiviral medicine. The case is no longer in work and there is no further risk to patients or staff at the hospital.

- 0 confirmed cases in Wales. – 90 people have been under investigation in Wales. Of these, swine flu has been ruled out in 85 cases, leaving five still under investigation. All of these are displaying, or have displayed, mild symptoms. – The five people under investigation were well when first identified, but reported recent flu-like symptoms following travel to Mexico.

New Guidance On Making Work Less Of A Pain In The Back – Findings Disclosed At Public Event On Tuesday May 5 At 5.30pm, University Of Leicester
New guidance for employers, patients and doctors on helping people with back pain return to work will be announced on Tuesday May 5 at the University of Leicester. It is estimated that it costs society in excess of £12 billion a year with people taking time off work because of back pain. Around 80% of these costs, were not associated with healthcare but due to lost work production and associated wage replacement benefits.
