– 37 confirmed cases in Wales, with 3 new cases: – A 29-year-old male from Wrexham County Borough. His illness is linked to travel from Spain. – A 38-year-old female from Anglesey. Her illness is linked to travel from Spain. – A 21-year-old female from Cardiff who is a direct contact of a confirmed case in Somerset.
Swine Flu Daily Update Issued At: 11am Tuesday 30 June 2009, Wales
– 26 confirmed cases in Wales, with 9 new cases: – A 25-year-old male from Cardiff who is a healthcare worker at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. The infection is related to travel and not to another case of swine flu in a healthcare worker at the same hospital. Close contacts, including patients and staff, are being identified and will be offered antiviral medicine. The case is no longer in work and there is no further risk to patients or staff at the hospital.

– 9 confirmed cases in Wales, including one new case: – A 22 year old male in Powys. He has been offered antivirals and is recovering. Close contacts have been identified. The NPHS is investigating the source of the infection. — 163 people have been under investigation in Wales. Of these, swine flu has been confirmed in 9 cases (see above) and ruled out in 137 cases, leaving 17 still under investigation. All of these are displaying, or have displayed, mild symptoms.

The NPHS is investigating the source of the infection. – A three year old boy from Ceredigion. He has been offered antivirals and is recovering.

- 3 confirmed cases in Wales. – 0 probable cases in Wales. – 136 people have been under investigation in Wales. Of these, swine flu has been confirmed in three cases (see above) and ruled out in 123 cases, leaving 10 still under investigation. All of these are displaying, or have displayed, mild symptoms. – Of the 10 people under investigation, seven were well when first identified, but reported recent flu-like symptoms following travel to affected areas.

Spread and extent of the outbreak (information as at 5pm on 11 June) — 3 confirmed cases in Wales: – A 33 year old female from the Blaenau Gwent local authority area. She has been offered antivirals and is recovering at home. Her illness is related to travel to an affected area. The NPHS has traced close contacts to check if any have flu symptoms and to offer them antiviral medicine. None of the close contacts have flu-like symptoms.
